"Top Ten Dystopian Places Around The World"

Thanks for having me! Okay, so I’m adding a bit of a twist and we are going to explore about the top dystopian places around Kiero, in the world Black Dawn is set. Here we go 😉
The Academy-  The Academy was originally built as a school, and the front of their new government by Nei and Roque Fae, and Bresslin and Cesan Stratton. After fleeing from Roque’s father, and his malicious reign, the Academy was the face where children and adults could study and lean to control their abilities, and not abuse them. Also, where desolates could seek refugee (people of non-ability). It was the headquarters where the dream of a new world budded, until Cesan Stratton betrayed the Fae’s, and Roque moved back into regency. Adair Stratton, when he was seventeen, killed not only the Fae’s and his parents, and using dark magic, destroyed the school and majority of its residents.
It was reconstructed as a military base, and hidden. Most of the base is underground, except the old-school library and rooms, which the Rebellions resides in.

The Ruined City- Previously Sarthaven, the capital of Kiero, the Ruined City is a skeleton footprint of the bustling life it once encompassed. Crumbling structures of buildings, and raiders occupy the ghost city. Adair, and his soldiers destroyed the capital after leaving the Academy in ruins

Draken Mountain Range-  Where Adair has built his capital over the last six years, the hidden city is sprawling throughout the carved out cavernous mountains. It holds not only an army of Adair’s soldiers, and Orion’s (the creature from the arena) that reside in the mines

Monenta, The Clearing of Lost Memories- Once a place of study for Nei Fae, it is now the home to dark underwater life, occupied by merpeople that protect lost treasures

The Broken Isles-  Nei Fae was formerly Nei Runnard, from the Broken Isles, located across the Black Sea from Kiero. They first arranged Nei and Roques marriage to stop Roque’s father from using rovers as slaves, but upon the death of Nei’s father, Tadeas Maher usurped him and didn’t recognize any peace agreement between the Broken Isles and Kiero. Marquis Maher is the current King of the Broken Isles (seen in Queen to Ashes)

Noctis Woods, or The Heart of Midnight- Seen in book two, Queen To Ashes, these woods lay behind the Draken Mountains, and are filled with old dark magic. Only Adair dares pass through them, having access to the Harbour for passage to the Broken Isles

The Black Sea- The ocean surrounding Kiero, it is filled with dark creatures and wild magic alike, but is active with passages from the Broken Isles and Kiero

Risco Desert- Heading north, past the Academy, lays the harsh Risco desert, which is raider territory

The Forgotten Bogs- Before the Risco desert lays marsh lands of the Forgotten Bogs, home to the mythical Warriors of the Bogs, woodland faes that would try to lead you to the pools that hold raw magic and if you look into their waters, it will reflect your future

Arken Mountains- The Northern Mountain Range, past Raider territory but has been deserted since the fall of the Academy
