Review:  This is the second book from an older POV I've read this week! I have rarely read magazines, but I am no stranger to the glamour of hollywood and even the discrimination in our everyday society. Luckiest Girl Alive is centred around this typical drama.

I've never read anything like Luckiest Girl Alive. I mean, I've read contemporaries occasionally, but none have been so severely focused in the cut-throat society of New York. TifAni FaNelli is just yet another girl trying to survive and stand out.

Yet again, another author has used flashbacks in her story to fill in the background. Like I've said, I really do find this effective for me as a reader, as I get to read about the present without huge, chunky pieces of background, and then get to read about the past and almost re-experience what is hidden.

Ani is a very strong narrator, and I really relate to her. I feel like underneath her tough shell she really is just one more girl scared to truly be herself, afraid of what others would think. Jessica Knoll has included many plot twists in Luckiest Girl Alive, and my favourite character other than Ani is definitely Mr. Andrew Larson. He doesn't help Ani in the way she wants, but he's there for her when she needs someone and offers sound advice.

I really enjoyed Luckiest Girl Alive, and I'll definitely be checking out more Jessica Knoll.
